Our story
A healthier future for Pakistan
UK Association for Medical Aid to Pakistan (UKMAP) – Transforming Healthcare, Saving Lives! UKMAP is the UK’s primary charity dedicated exclusively to improving healthcare in Pakistan. Founded in response to the devastating 2005 Pakistan Earthquake, we have been working tirelessly since 2008 to relieve sickness, disease, and poverty across the country.
Providing a Healthier and Brighter Future UKMAP was founded in the wake of the devastating 2005 earthquake to provide emergency relief and sustainable support to disaster-affected areas. Over the years, we have expanded our mission to address the ongoing healthcare needs of vulnerable communities across Pakistan. Today, we continue to deliver emergency relief, support healthcare projects, and fund medical training for individuals, all with the goal of creating a healthier and brighter future for young people and families.
Our Journey Our Impact Emergency Response: From natural disasters to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have remained on the front lines, delivering essential medical supplies and urgent support to vulnerable communities. Sustainable Healthcare: We strengthen hospitals and clinics with vital equipment, staff training, and treatment support for serious illnesses, including hepatitis, cancer, and diabetes.
Community Outreach: Through awareness campaigns and preventive care programmes, we empower communities with the knowledge and support needed to improve health and wellbeing. Disaster Response: We delivered tents, food, and medical supplies to families affected by the Balochistan earthquake and DG Khan floods, while supporting survivors' recovery.
Healthcare Initiatives: We established remote health centres providing maternal care, child healthcare, vaccinations, and disease treatment, plus clean water solutions for communities Medical Education and Training: We funded doctors, nurses, and healthcare trainees, while supporting midwifery programmes that help reduce maternal and infant mortality in underserved areas Our Vision for the Future We believe that access to quality healthcare and education is the foundation of a brighter future for Pakistan.
By addressing immediate needs and investing in long-term solutions, we aim to: Reduce preventable deaths caused by diseases, disasters, and lack of healthcare. Empower communities through education, training, and sustainable development. Create opportunities for young people to build fulfilling careers in healthcare and beyond.
