Location: Various villages including Kagan Colony, Shah Kot, Hassan Town, and Haripur, District Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Project Description:
Extending its reach into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, UKMAP, working through CDRS, organised a ration pack distribution in multiple villages across District Abbottabad. While Abbottabad is often associated with more developed urban centres, many rural communities within the district face ongoing food insecurity and limited livelihood options.
The distribution targeted families most affected by poverty, seasonal unemployment, and rising food prices. CDRS teams worked with care and compassion, ensuring that ration packs were delivered respectfully, transparently, and in a manner that protected the dignity of recipients.
Beneficiaries: 123 families
Impact:
The initiative provided essential food supplies to vulnerable communities across several villages in Abbottabad, helping families stabilise their food situation and reduce short-term negative coping strategies such as borrowing money or reducing meal portions. It also marked an important step in UKMAP’s efforts to support diverse regions across Pakistan.
